1. Establish Prior Knowledge: Launch Word 2007 and participate in a group discussion to determine the features in Office 2007 that are the same in Office 2003. 2.
Build
New Knowledge: a. Use the Office 2007 Vocabulary Words document (with or without definitions) as a resource while the instructor provides a ‘hands-on’ walk through of the new features in Word 2007 OR b. Open Word 2007 and complete an independent walk-through of the software by following the six exercises in the document “Introduction to the New Interface” c. On the Ribbon, click the Get Started Tab and use the Interactive Guide to find a command. This is a powerful resource that will help you find Office 2003 commands in Office 2007 d. File Management for Office 2007: learn about the new file formats for Office 2007 and how to transition from Office 2003 3. Apply New Knowledge: Practice using the software by completing the following activities as time permits. a. Word activity This exercise supports the Maryland Teacher Technology Literacy Standard V: Integrating Technology into the Curriculum and Instruction b. PowerPoint activity This exercise supports the Maryland Teacher Technology Literacy Standard V: Integrating Technology into the Curriculum and Instruction c.
