Measures to support accessibility

Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our district's website:

  • Assign clear accessibility goals and responsibilities.
  • Employ formal accessibility quality assurance methods.
  • Include staff with accessibility expertise in review and audit content.

As part of HCPS's commitment to accessibility, we conduct regular reviews of the content on our site. These reviews, as well as our continual emphasis on accessibility through professional development for content contributors, helps to ensure our websites are optimized to provide users with an accessible experience.

Conformance status

Harford County Public Schools strives to ensure the information on our website be accessible to everyone including individuals with differing needs. Web accessibility ensures access to the web for everyone, regardless of disability. Significant efforts have been made to ensure that our site complies with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA, set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). The school system's goal is to provide Web content that achieves AA conformance as prescribed by the W3C, while also complying with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
