Safety and Security

To advance the security within Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) by integrating safety into the fabric of the school system through evaluation, education, and training. Through collaboration, the Department of Safety and Security shall persist to amalgamate the components of environmental and personal safety and security into every aspect of the educational/operational practices of the Harford County public school system.

The HCPS Office of Safety and Security conducts its work in alignment with goal four of the Board of Education of Harford County's strategic plan: Provide safe, secure, and healthy learning environments that are conductive to effective teaching and learning, creativity and innovation.

All Harford County Public Schools are equipped with surveillance cameras, remote access controlled entrance doors, and exterior doors controlled by proxy cards.
