Maryland law requires Harford County Public Schools to administer the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment, or KRA, to all kindergarten students at every elementary school for the 2022-2023 school year. The purpose of the KRA is to provide teachers with insight regarding children’s early learning experiences upon entering kindergarten in the areas of social skills, language and literacy, mathematics, and physical well-being and motor development. The KRA is part of the Ready for Kindergarten: Maryland’s Early Childhood Comprehensive Assessment System, or R4K.

Your child was administered the KRA. The results from this assessment will enable your child’s teacher to better meet their individual needs. Individual student reports will come home in your student’s backpack between now and December 23, 2022. For more information regarding the assessment, please visit:

If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
