Joppatowne High School Junior Wins Congressional Art Contest
Shout out and congratulations to Joppatowne High School junior Amiera Celian, who won the 2022 Congressional Art Contest for U.S. Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger! Amiera’s art teacher is Ms. Cynthia Hendrick.

Amiera’s work will be featured in an exhibit in the Cannon House Office Building tunnel that leads to the U.S. Capitol.

This nationwide high school arts competition is held each spring and is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. This event, first introduced in 1982, allows high school students from all 50 states and the District of Columbia and U.S. territories to showcase their artistic ability. A panel of professional judges from the local art community selects the winner.

Way to go, Amiera and Ms. Hendrick!
