Havre de Grace High School Students Design Real Army Software for Aberdeen Proving Ground Partnership

Students in the Havre de Grace High School Information Technology Oracle Academy recently partnered with the U.S. Army's Capability Program Executive Command and Control Information Network (CPE C2IN) at Aberdeen Proving Ground on a real-world technology challenge.

Over three months, students applied their skills in coding, programming, and user interface and user experience (UI/UX) design to redesign the user dashboard of a software tool Soldiers use to manage and consolidate data for operational planning. Working in groups, students pitched original "splash page" concepts with the end-user in mind. Designs ranged from task-tracking applications and customizable dashboards to sophisticated real-time server monitoring displays.

CPE C2IN representatives were on hand for the culminating presentations and recognized students with certificates. Project Manager Data & AI plans to incorporate standout design elements from the student projects into a newly redesigned version of the software.

Congratulations to the students and staff at Havre de Grace High School on this outstanding partnership with our nation's armed forces.
