Harford County Public Schools Welcomes New Teachers Ahead of the 2026-2027 School Year

On Thursday, August 20, 2026, Harford County Public Schools welcomed new faces to the district during New Teacher Orientation, held at Patterson Mill Middle/High School.

New teachers joining HCPS this year gathered for a day of welcome and preparation as the district gears up for the start of the 2026-2027 school year. The morning began with coffee and donuts courtesy of WJZ and Dunkin, giving new staff a chance to connect with one another before the day's programming began.

Throughout the orientation, new teachers heard from system leaders, including Superintendent Dyann Mack, who welcomed them to the HCPS community and shared her vision for the district as the new school year approaches. Following remarks from system leadership, new teachers met with their respective content area teams, an opportunity to connect with colleagues, review curriculum expectations, and begin preparing for the first day of school.

With the first day of school just over a week away, Harford County Public Schools is excited to welcome this group of educators to the district. Their enthusiasm and dedication will help shape the experiences of HCPS students in classrooms across the county this year.
