Join the Board of Education of Harford County officers at town hall style events during the 2025-26 school year. Ask questions or provide comments and engage for the future of education in our county. All parents/guardians and community members are invited to attend any event date.

Board of Education Engage for Education Listening Session
The Board of Education of Harford County will hold an Engage for Education listening session on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Aberdeen High School. Board Vice President Wade Sewell and Board Member Carol Bruce will be in attendance. Community members are invited to ask questions and share their thoughts about the future of education in Harford County. No registration is required. For more information, visithcps.org.

Prevention Starts at Home: Digital Safety for Caregivers
Harford County Public Schools, in partnership with the Office on Mental Health and Change the Conversation, will host "Prevention Starts at Home: Digital Safety for Caregivers" on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Patterson Mill Middle/High School. Licensed counselor Amie Myrick will present an interactive session designed to help caregivers understand the digital risks children and teens face online and provide practical strategies for safer technology use at home. Schools recognized by the Maryland State Department of Education(MSDE), which exhibit high performance and significant improvement in student achievement. 252 teachers hired in 2023. Total number of teachers hired between October 16, 2023 and October 15, 2024. 74% of all HCPS teachers have a master's or doctorate. 55 Schools. 19 Green Schools recognized by the Maryland Association of Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE), these schools have made a commitment to reduce environmental impact. 2,142 classrooms. 4,118 school-based staff members in 188 total buildings.
