We’ve been made aware there may have been recipients who already purchased a Device Protection Plan who received the below email. Please disregard the email if you’ve already purchased a plan. We apologize for the inconvenience. We will be addressing the recipient list and resending the email to the appropriate parents and guardians as soon as we are able. 

The following communication was sent to select parents and guardians on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. via email.

You are receiving this email because our records show a Device Protection Plan has not been purchased for your student’s device. The final day to purchase a plan is January 31, 2024.   

When your student received their device, it came with a copy of the Student Device Agreement and Protection Plan.  As noted in this agreement, in accordance with Board of Education policy, Use of Equipment/Materials by Students, the parent/guardian will be responsible for all damage or loss to an HCPS owned device, whether in or out of school. The cost to repair a device for those without a Device Protection Plan is $150.  

A Device Protection Plan is $50.00 and can be purchased through January 31, 2024. Plans are not available for purchase after January 31, 2024. You can purchase a plan by clicking here.  

If you apply and are approved for free and reduced meals, you will automatically receive the device protection plan. The application can be found at  https://www.myschoolapps.com/Home/PickDistrict.    

The fee for the protection plan is per student for the entire school year and is non-refundable. This plan will cover the cost of two incidents of accidental damage to the device, if submitted for repair with the service tag visible.  The plan will not cover any intentional damages.    

Please note: Lost or stolen items ARE NOT covered by the device protection plan.
