Aberdeen High School AVID program receives $5,635 donation
On Monday, January 27, 2020, the Aberdeen High School Alumni Class of 1969 and 1970 and The Mind Band donated $5,635 to the Aberdeen High School Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program. This donation will help to cover training fees for teachers and staff. These training sessions will allow teachers to expand the AVID program/practices within the school. The donation will also help fund field trips and stoles for graduating AVID seniors.

Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a national program that has been at Aberdeen High School since 2013. AVID prepares all students for academic success by through evidence-based strategies for writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading. The program guides students through the planning and application process for post-secondary education, with a focus on learning the soft skills businesses seek.
