Norrisville Elementary celebrated National Reading Month
Norrisville Elementary culminated National Reading Month 2023 in spring style. Students exceeded the March goal of 100,000 total in-school minutes with a grand total of 152,570 minutes! We celebrated throughout the month with weekly trivia, a door decorating contest, creating frog names, and more. Our top reading class in K-2 and 3-5 will proudly display a reading month trophy in their classrooms. Our One School, One Book: Life According to Og the Frog, was a great success. To send our students off to a “hoppy” spring break, our amazing leaders Ms. Drumgoole and Ms. Scharpf dressed as friendly amphibians and were willing to pucker up to smooch a frog! After The Great Norrisville Frog Hunt of 2023 turned up empty-handed, we had the cutest “stand-in” - a 5-month-old piglet wearing a frog hat.

During this month-long celebration, students proudly showcased themselves as amazing readers! Thank you to our wonderful PTA and The Harford County Education Foundation for sponsoring us! Way to go, NES!
