Elementary and Secondary Green Teachers of the Year!
Harford Glen and the Harford Glen Foundation recently celebrated this year’s Elementary and Secondary Green Teachers of the Year for the 2023-2024 school year. Congratulations to Mr. Chris Hedges of Havre de Grace Elementary and Mr. Craig McLeod of Fallston High School!

Chris Hedges, the Elementary School Green Teacher of the year, was nominated by Principal Jennifer Gasdia. According to Ms. Gasdia, he has shown an unparalleled commitment to environmental education. From growing lettuce hydroponically to organizing a schoolwide recycling program, Ms. Gasdia says he inspires students and staff alike. She says his passion for environmental education is contagious, and his dedication to cultivating future environmental leaders is truly commendable.

Craig McLeod, the Secondary School Green Teacher of the year, was nominated by Principal Joe Collins. According to Mr. Collins, Mr. McLeod has been at the core of Environmental Science and Green School initiatives at Fallston High for over 28 years. He has transformed the school's environment with indoor plants, a native species garden, and recycling projects.
