Fallston High School Mock Trial Team Honored by Circuit Court Judge

The Fallston High School Mock Trial Team earned a special honor on Friday, May 15, 2026, when Judge Paul W. Ishak invited the group to his courtroom at the Circuit Court for Harford County. The visit was inspired by Chief Justice Matthew J. Fader of the Maryland Supreme Court, who encouraged fellow judges to recognize the hard work and passion for law that Harford County students have demonstrated through the MyLaw Mock Trial program.

This season, the Fallston High School team advanced to the State's Sweet 16 finals for District 3, competing against Park School of Baltimore County in what marked a historic milestone for Harford County. Students prepare each season using a new legal case provided by MyLaw, building skills in courtroom procedure, public speaking, and critical thinking inside actual courtrooms, with real judges and attorneys providing scoring and feedback.

The team is coached by attorney Anthony DiPaula and supported by teacher advisors, with local competition organized by the HCPS Social Studies Office, led by Erin Lange. Through Judge Ishak's leadership, additional area judges and attorneys are expected to volunteer their time to mentor and inspire Harford County students pursuing law-related fields.
