Joppatowne High School JROTC Cadets Honored at Annual Awards Ceremony

Joppatowne High School celebrated the accomplishments of its U.S. Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) cadets during the program's annual awards ceremony on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

The ceremony recognized cadets for their dedication, leadership, and service throughout the school year. JROTC develops young people through military-based instruction focused on citizenship, discipline, and community involvement, and the cadets at Joppatowne High have embraced that mission.

Joppatowne High School launched its JROTC program in the 2023-2024 school year, becoming part of a nationwide network of Army JROTC programs. The program was a natural fit for a school already home to the county's signature Homeland Security Emergency Preparedness Program and located in a community with deep ties to Aberdeen Proving Ground, the U.S. Army installation that serves as Harford County's largest employer.

Harford County Public Schools congratulates all cadets recognized at this year's ceremony and thanks the program's instructors for their commitment to developing the next generation of leaders.
